Alrighty folks - looks like I have gathered all the components for the 'workover'.

Bosch +4 plugs & items needed for change.(already dropped in the K&N)

Warn hubs with fuses.

New rotors.

New Monroe struts & shocks(stock length).

Upyourkia 2.5" spacers(thanks Dennis).

4crawler 1 3/8" bodylift(thanks Roger)

Sportrack roof basket(with extension).

Going with 29x10.5 Trxus STS tires on 15x8 aluminum wheels(not sure which wheel yet, waiting on a deal from buddy at retailer).

Have read the write ups on the plug & hub change but if anyone has any tips or suggestions to add regarding lift procedure they will be much appreciated .

Body Damage is Cool
When you install the body lift, make sure you pull the power steering reservoir off the body before you start lifting. Other wise you'll break the outlet pipes.

30's 30's 30s !!!!!!!!!, I have the same suspension and body lift and the 30x9.5s fit nicley on the factory aluminum rims. Havn't rubbed yet.
Don't "under tire" yourself, some here are running the 31x10.5's with that setup. I was with crager wheels.
Have fun!

And oh, yea, dont get bgger than 15x7 wheels, the 15x8's look to wide with even 31's on them and the bead lets loose easier! (I made that mistake.)

Amen to Logan's advise on the body lift. He saved me grief on the power steering issue. Just undo the clamp and lift the reservoir out of the "v-holder". I did mine a few weeks ago. High lift jack is in order, $29.00 US on sale @ Harbor Freight.
You WILL probably bend where ever you jack up in the rear so make sure it will be hidden.
Also, do one side at a time. I did not have trouble putting in any of them but the 2 front ones (in front of the radiator) would not line up when I let the body down, so I just loosened all nuts to where they were just on, then went about 15 mph in reverse and slammed on the brakes. After a couple of times, they dropped in.
I bent the shifters in a vise and used a bolt as a fulcrum.
You will still need to remove some of the foam, but it will work.
I re-used my rear bumper by drilling holes where the studs on the bumper hit. Then you will only have 2 bolts holding on the bumper. (I'm going to make brackets so that the top two studs will have something to attach to, although the 2 studs are holding ok so far!!!
It's a 4 cocktail job (about 4 hours) but it will give you great rewards.
Keep us updated with pics of your project.

Had to weld the rear bumper so as to make it sit nicer.

The Radiator is offset like almost an inch---but no problem I hope. on AT the linkage had to be modified and the sec. Shifter area also had to be altered. The steering seems to be not affected although IT feels like I'M driving a "GO CArt" at times while on the freeway

Or has the steering in the Sportage always done this???

Anyone notice like a strange/Dangerous steering feel to the Sportage??????

Mine didn't seem to change but all I have done was the 1.4" body lift.
Last Friday night I drove 40 miles on the freeway and averaged about 80-85 mph. No touchy steering at all. But I only got about 20 mpg's

Thanks for the tips folks !!

DaPeach - Decided to go with these tires for a couple of reasons. Want fairly aggressive AT instead of MT cause Sporty is a daily driver & will likely see limited trail use. I've had Trxus MTs on my Jeep(great tire) & would put them on the sporty but I want to stay within the 30" diameter so not to loose power. Want a 10.5" tread width & the STS is the only tire that measures 29.1x10.5. As far as balancing is concerned I have had pretty good luck with placing weights on inside of rim & no vibs.

CenTex - Your 30x9.5 BFGs are only .4" bigger than STS 29s but STS are 10.5" wide. Having a 10.5" tire on a 8" rim is perfect, never had a problem on my Jeep. Did you have trouble with your rr bumper going back on after the bodylift? How bout your shifters?

Logan, Hydra & Everet - Have noted the pwr steering res. Will detach before I do the bodylift. Will also detach brake lines from mounts at each wheel. Nervous about the shifter stuff. Is modification of the shifters necessary?

Thanks again guys .
