So my gas pedal started sticking the other day and sometimes its scary to drive cause it will stick on the hwy and I'll have to hit it a few times to bring the RPMS down scary as all hell.
Any idea's on why or how to fix, I am going to look at it later this afternoon.
But I thought I would post here to see if you guys have any ideas.
oh ya its a 89 trooper with the 2.6. Thanks Franko

I've read that there is a pretty common problem with the rubber part on the carb/throttle body end of the cable getting gummy. Removing it, cleaning the cable, and spraying some lube in there took care of it.
If nothing else it could be good for a temp fix till you get a new cable.

There is a device available that clamps to the end of a cable & allows cable lube to be injected throughout the entire length of the cable. I can't remember the name, but I found mine at a motorcycle dealer a few years ago. They work good, just have a rag at the other end, cause the gunk that gets forced out can cause a bit of a mess.
