I kind of like the idea of pulling a small off-road trailer with your supplies. Gets some of the weight off your main ride, and frees up space for passengers.

Yeah, after some suggestions of that and further consideration that wont work for these reasons:
* Still 2 door on the Amigo and getting additional people back there is a PITA.
* With a 4th and/or 5th person with us, there is no room for the dog
* I killed a tranny with the additional heat buildup from wheelin/blizzard snow bashing of the past 7 years. New tranny will get a temp gauge and larger cooler. But to pull a trailer over stuff, obstacles, et al seems counter productive.

So many options, its just tough to nail down for what makes the most sense.

Hmmm! Let's see............

A Rodeo has 4 doors IIRC! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

And room for the dog.

We looked at the 4 door Jeeps like Michaels and that is a sweet ride..

Course so is the LR2.......

4Runner(85-89 22RE) everything else is just a station wagon with a t-case.

Um, yeah. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> Unfortunately, they only have 2 doors, and dont fit the criteria. Great rigs though.

The Amigo is NOT a station wagon thankyouverymuch. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" />

No an amigo is definately not a station wagon, they do have a removable top after all. This fact puts them in an elite club along with K5's, Scouts, Early Broncos, 2nd gen broncos, 1st gen 4Runners, jeeps and FJ 40's

Something to consider, a mid 90's Mitsu Monty SR, great trucks and factory rear air lockers...oh and 4 doors.

I have considered a 90 4runner and SAS it. Or skip the SAS and just buy a FZJ80. Lots of aftermarket would be nice for a change.

After watching the Rover group at Colorado 'Zu VII '05. I have thought a lot about Rover Disco I's. Rovers and their parts are mostly cheaper than TLCs Stock axles seem to be limited to about 33" tires. Rovers have a reasonable aftermarket parts. Plus I love off brands and the sound of a v8.
