I have a 99 tacoma 4wd. it has the ortiginal wheels(15"x6") on it. i recintly put 31's 0n it.... but wanted to get some new wheels for it... i heard that a 15"x7"/or/8" would work better with the 31's... any advise or ideas?... i also was looking into getting a front end leviling kit... is this a good idea or not?... any good ideas on what kind of wheels or kit to get?... thanx!

15x8s might be too wide for 31s, but would probably be perfect for 32x11.50s. Any 'above the coilover' spacer would be good to lift it 1" to match the rear.

I would think you could find some used 15x7 Tacoma alloy wheels locally. Maybe on craigslist...just be leary of scammers. If you're thinking aftermarket...Discount Tire or (Americas Tire) are the best at service.

Here's an example of a small leveling kits from one of our sponsors below...Suspension Connection:

I'm guessing the installation for this one involves dis-assembling the coilover. It would be better to search for one that just bolts on, above the coilover. Check on Ebay, reply with a link when you find one.

For 31s, either 15x7 or 15x8 would do just fine.

On my last Toyota, I bought an used set of 15x10, and the guy had 31x10.5-15 tires on them. I ran them for the next 2 years w/o any problem. Given the 10" wide rim, the whole side of the tires were very round, but never had problem with popping the beads or anything. It definitely gave a wide stance to the truck.

My 2 cents is to just buy some used 15x7 Toyota alloys as there are many on the markets for good price. But if you're buying new, I would consider 15x8 for the extra width in stability, and also if you ever want to upgrade (who wouldn't) in the future for 33" or 35" tires, the 15x8 would be perfect.
