personally, i brought this idea up last year. the sportage engine can handle up to 8 lbs of boost either way(turbo or supercharged) and it's gonna be a hell of a time fabbing the parts for a supercharger system. i've called and emailed just about every company that builds supercharger kits and no one will touch the 1st gen. sportage.

95 sportage, gone and severly missed.
94 camaro 5-speed v6 with a few addons.
girlfriends 93 s-10 4.3 soon to be lifted and made into a pre-runner

i think its gunna be a case of fabbin up brackets and mounts yourself......i goin the turbo way as it looks easier to do......its an ihi turbo.....brand new rhf5.....for about 350au dollars.....water cooled and roller bearing.....will use an intercooler as well....only want 8pounds boost dont want to go any more than that......

it's still in my plans, it won't be difficult to fab the brackets and intake, what will be difficult is getting someone to reprogram.

Need a Spot
You'll have to forgive me as a lot of this goes above my head but the electronics are something I'm familiar with; all the immobiliser does is read the key and send this info to the EMS which then validates it and starts the engine (bit of back and forth but that's about it). I'm assuming you're talking about replacing the EMS for something different? If so just loose the immobiliser and standard EMS and replace with another one which just runs off the ignition switch for starting - of course you loose the security aspects. (No responsibility on this if my mind is failing me - it's been a couple of years since I messed with this stuff <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />)

Cheers

Andrew

yeah the only thing i want the microtech(very good aftermarket tunable computers)is run the engine......nothing else......so that way if the boys in blue(police)pull me over and want to have a seek peak all they see is a standard computer.....i havent done it but have helped a mate install 1 into a skyline turbo and it worked a treat......

So................................................

What is the first order of bussiness?

What parts are needed and what do we have to have/do?

What Pre-components should we be looking to obtain?

Also where do all of us go from here (besides wait)?

Thanks-Mike
