Anyone know where I can get a high amp Alternator for my 3.4L (with a serpentine belt)? I'd like something that is atleast 130 amps.....160 amp would be best though. And, I'd really, really like a bolt in application (prolly too much to hope for though). Anyone know where to look for something like this?

'93 4Runner - 3.4L 5VZ-FE, 2" body lift, on-board-air system, custom gauge cluster, rear e-locker, electric fan, custom built front and rear bumpers, sliders, 4,88 gears...all on 33x12.5's.

Need a Spot
Depending on where in CO you are, there are a few local shops that will gut and rebuild a stock alternator and get a decent amount of increase. The only problem with that is a very limited warranty.

I'm in Colorado Springs, and if is close enough and you give me a little time I can probably remember where the stereo shop I work at used to send them to get beefed up.

Iv'e thought about going that route...having the original rewound. But, I've read some bad things about that...usually of them not lasting very long.....I'm all about the reliability.

I've found a few places that sell a bolt in application for about $500....which is a bit (actually a lot) more than I was hoping to spend.

I've been reading a lot about small case Chevy altenators that put out 110..and even up to 160 amps. Anyone know anything about those?

I installed a 160 amp powermaster on my 3.0, ErikB installed one on his 22r. We got them at Summit. Here is a write up on my install and in the write up is a link for the 22r install.
