Getting the Wheeling Fever

Finally got a chance to do a little bit of wheeling on tuesday, however,my Tranfer case kept popping out of 4Low decending downhill. I had to forcibly hold the t-case lever to keep it from popping out of gear. I could feel it trying to kick it out of gear while holding onto the shifter. Any ideas?

Sounds like a synchronizer of sorts in the t-case or possibly a mount? Maybe? Do you have a lift or anything that may be causing a bind on the linkage?

Nothing out of the ordinary on the lift. 1/2 Tbar crank and an add a leaf in the rear. Ive never had any trouble with this before. It feels like it binding.

there is a pin in the selector rail that can cause this to happen it most likly needs to be backed out a bit.

Thanks, Ill try to find the pin. We had some rough winter storms here,,,ever since then Ive had a lot of funny little problems with my Monty. Broken Hubs, tons of new squeaks, even a new leak

Well i tried to find a pic but can't, but pretty much you'll be pissed trying to get at it so take your time and blame the last guy who put the t\case and tranny back together for driving it to deep.

I would love to blame it on someone else, but ive owned it for 12 years, and my uncle owned it 10 years prior since new. Honestly, I dont think its ever been apart.

I guess the screw is internal since you were suggesting it had been taken apart at one time?

Lordtrunks, will this info apply to the GenI 3.0L t-case? Just wondering for future reference.
