4L not engaging after lift #820985 06/24/07 10:04 PM

Quick question for anyone willing to help: I just had a 4" suspension lift along with new 33x12.5 tires installed on my 2005 Wrangler Sport. Everything seemed fine until I went out on a little backroad trip and discovered that I cannot engage 4 wheel low. Well, here is what happens specifically: It will shift into low, but when I try to put the car in gear, it suddenly drops out of 4L, presumably into neutral. My question is whether the lift might have something to do with this or whether it is just a coincidence and my transfer case is damaged. I perused the FAQ section, but didn't see anything that addressed this question specifically. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Did you install a transfer case drop along with your lift kit? If so that is your problem, the t-case drop threw your linkage out of whack and you need to adjust it. Very easy 5-10 min job.

Hope this helps,
Fred R.

I had the lift installed in a shop. I would assume they did install a transfer case drop, but you know what they say about assuming. I'll check with them. Thanks for your help guys.

There is a bracket you can buy to correct that problem. You can find it at Quadratec.com
