Can anyone tell me what sort of EGT I should expect from my 3.4L Taco? I have the temp probe about 1 1/2 - 2 inches from the cylinder head in the #5 header tube.

My pyrometer shows between 600-800 degrees at idle, and just over 1200 at 60 mph (with about 12" of vacuum on the boost gauge).

I did find one article warning against going above 1350 for any length of time, but was for a diesel. Can't seem to find anything on the web about acceptable ranges for gas engines, so any info/experience would be greatly appreciated. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

Roll Me Over
You're fine. 1200 is safe. People go over 1400 supercharged running high boost and a bad tune, but 1200 you are fine. any higher than 1300 you should worry.
