Getting the Wheeling Fever
I just figured I'd ask, just in case. The Autozone nearby carries Bosch. Best to stick with a dealer filter instead?
I started PB blasting last week. Now I'm itching to change it. At 114K it's original, so I figured it was time.

I wouldn't have any problems running a bosch filter. Main filter to avoid is fram. They suck all around.

Wife's 2001 Volvo uses Bosch replacement filters - I change every 30K since you need NO TOOLS! That's right kiddies - the Swedes figured out how to engineer finger release plastic connectors on the fuel filter tube ends. No soaking in PB for days and no double-tool special-wrench knuckle busting swearing sweating nightmare. That however is the ONLY easy job on the Volvo - everything else is completely non-standard.

I just ordered the Toyota factory fuel filter from Carrol for ~$28. My local tructed mechanic told me not to bother til 100K but after 11 years and 90K I think I better before the threads completely rust out. Tonight will be 3rd PB soaking, wrenches at the ready waiting for filter delivery.

Since they last forever I would spring the $$ for the Toyota filter.

My filter had 60K on it and I cut it open just to see how bad it was. There was some discoloration of the paper element from contamination but probably would have gone another 60. Not a lot of gunk in it.
