i'm changing my timming belt i need to remove crankshaft pulley i'm trying every thing but the nut wont move

Get your Big Breaker Bar and Big Socket which fits the crankshaft pulley nut. Find a solid place on the driver's side to brace the breaker bar against. Usually best to use a piece of wood to cushion.

Pull the fuel pump relay or fuse so the engine won't start. Then, with the socket on the pulley bolt, and the breaker bar firmly braced, turn the ign momentarily to "Start". Don't leave it there, just a quick 'tap'.

This should knock that bolt loose lickity-split!

Given that not everyone here is from a location that has left-hand drive vehicles, please note that driver's side in the quote above refers to the left side of the vehicle as seen while sitting in the vehicle.

A Harbor Freight chain wrench (looks like a vise grip but with a loop of chain instead of jaws) will also do an excellent job - cut up an old belt and wrap the pulley to protect it before looping the chain around it. Use a pipe over one of the handles to increase leverage on the wrench and have an assistant (with breaker bar and lots of leverage) loosen the pulley nut. Or, wedge the chain wrench/bar against the ground/frame and loosen it yourself.

I have removed pulleys from 3 different vehicles using this tool and it has worked well.

I've used the starter method as described above 3 or 4 times now, but each time I have visions of the bolt shearing off. Beads of sweat start to form when I ask my helper to "bump the starter" while I'm bracing my breaker bar on that nut. Perhaps my fears are unfounded.

I've also removed the starter and used a jumbo-sized screwdriver or other large tool to brace against a tooth on the flywheel. It's worked, but I suppose there are risks involved here, too.

Or do it the easy way.... Yours has a manual transmission right? stick it in 4th or 5th, make sure the handbrake is on and use a piece of pipe on the end of your socket to turn the nut for extra leverage. Piece of cake matey
