I am working on a 1992 4runner that my father and i purchased a few months ago. When we bought the truck, we knew it had a blown head gasket. We had the heads reworked and pressure tested by a local machine shop and put the beast back together. when i tried to start it for the first time it fired up and immediately went dead. I started by checking timing first, then checked the fuel circuit. That is when i found that my injectors are not pulsing.(I determined this by using a noid light) From that point i starting chasing the ground circuit. I can manually ground the injector pin on the ecm and make the injectors pulse well enough for the vehicle run. I then replaced the ecm, and it does the same thing!!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> I have checked every ground that i could find and they all seem to be good. I also replaced the air flow meter and still nothing. I have checked the efi relay and fuse and they are working properly as well. I am thinking that the distributor is the last link. If anyone knows anything or has had a similar problem please help! Thank you for reading this, sorry for being so long winded!

It starts then dies? This can happen if the air intake hose is not completely assembled or if the plug is off of the MAF. Just one idea.
