If you want a gas guzzling pig that will not fit in your garage then its great. I Don't know why Toyota thinks that they have to build trucks that can tow 10,000 pounds when the people who buy those type of trucks (construction company's ect..) Will not buy Foriegn made vehicles. I think they had a good thing going with the smaller Tacoma and the T100 for guys that like to 4 wheel, haul some mulch and get decent mileage as an everyday driver. I know one thing I do not see many of the new Tundra's on the road.
Toyota T100 best truck Toyota ever built "Its so good the frame does not rust in half"

Why?.....WHY NOT!? that truck was designed by the USA team in Mich. and is built in the USA (that is more than Dodge can say) that truck is more USA than most others. and they are all over the place, you need to open your eyes. I have been stuck buying the big 3 trucks due to towing reasons and now that I have moved into the MDT truck arena and tow with a Freightliner I no longer need them. my T is a work truck and Beater, I'll tell you I got better gas mileage out of my both one ton diesels I had. heck I used to get 22mpg with my Excursion (PSD). I am in the T for one more year as I told my wife I would do and then yes, I will have a new Tundra with it's gas sucking 381 HP and I will only hope and pray that TRD will have a Supercharger for it then. Man you need to get out of O high O.... x2 You haven't spent much time out West have you? Out here, TONS of people drive big trucks to commute, haul their toys (boats, bikes, campers...), etc. And they aren't just buying the big three. And your typical mid-western die-hard big three fans wouldn't buy foreign because no foreign truck could compare. That is what Toyota is trying to change. FYI, I've seen quite a few new Tundras on the road out here in the last couple of months. That's pretty impressive considering they've only been out for a few months. And there are LOTS of the older Tundras here already. The midwest is just a bit slower to catch on...

if i did not want the serious oomph of my cummins dodge, i'd go for the tundra.

It may be nice and all, but that is one ugly truck! Thats the only reason I need, not to want one.

I'd have to agree, but it may grow on me. I used to hate the look of the new Tacoma's too, but now I kinda like them...

Those are some nice trucks--seems like the prices are coming down a little. Just be careful of the new 5.7 V8, they are having some problems with the cams.
I would not want to have a brand new truck with an overhauled engine.
Thanks, Brad

2 guys here at work bought the new Tundras. Both 4X4 Xcabs with the 6 speed auto. Surprizingly both are reporting 21 MPG freeway and 16 around town. That is as good and sometimes better than my T. One traded his late model Ford diesel for it and says he lost about 2 MPG but plenty of power for towing his boat.

If only I had another $20K laying around.
