Previous Thread Next Thread Print Thread Rate Thread 3L V6 low RPM miss ? #823915 07/09/07 05:23 AM Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 3 Western Washington 6 6Gun OP Need a Spot 1992 4Runner, V6, 5 speed, 170K. It Starts and accelerates easy, but at 25 to 35 MPH it does not run smoothly. It jerks badly, if I step on the gas it will accelerate smoothly right on up. It is just when IÆm trying to maintain an even speed around 1500 to 2000 rpm. IÆve checked for obvious vacuum leaks and can find none. Any and all ideas will be appreciated. Sounds like you toasted the exhaust valves on 1 or 2 cyls (prob #5 or #6). Very common issue around your mileage. There is plenty of low RPM power. The problem is noticed around 1500RPM. Any other ideas cause it appears to be a very well taken care of truck or I would not have bought it.
