Previous Thread Next Thread Print Thread Rate Thread rear end gears questions #824358 07/11/07 06:18 PM Joined: Apr 2007 Posts: 105 V v8yota OP Wheeler hi,,,i have a few questions ,,,,1st question,,i found a 92 toyota 4 runner in a local junk yard,,it has a v6 engine and an auto trans,,,the axle code is G144 ,,,from what i can find out it is a 8 inch rear with 4.88 gears and 4 pinions,,,,,2nd question ,,the 4runner does not have 31 inch tires ,,,,,,,,3rd question is ,,,,will the rear 3rd member from the 92 4runner fit in a 86 pickup rear end and will the axles from the 86 rear end fit the 4runner 3rd member,,,,,,,,thanks for any help Re: rear end gears questions [Re: v8yota] #824359 07/11/07 06:22 PM Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 514 Juno Beach, FL grandeyota Rock Warrior 1. g144 is a 4.88 gear code. 2. The 4.88 3rd will fit in the 86 housing and the 86 axles will fit into it.
