I have a chipped shifter knob that is really bothersome. I have purchased a replacement, but can't get the old knob off. What is the trick?

Many have a CAP on the top that snaps off and there is a nut under it. Others simply unscrew from the stick. Big JIm <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />

Yours should have the cap with the shift pattern which will pry out. There is a nut underneath that has to come off before the nob will unscrew.

Thanks, I didn't know that would pop off. That explains why it doesn't unscrew as expected.
