Just wanted to say what a great community this is. I really appreciate all the questions that were answered and insight given. It helped me make a leap of faith that has turned out better than I ever could have imagined. It's in phenomenal condition inside and out, easily a 4.0/A vehicle (Jesse, am I right? ) . Now that I've been driving it for several days, I can confirm that I'm going to be one very happy owner for a long time. It's a near-perfect vehicle for me, an out-of-the-box choice like the police-packaged civvie car I've been driving for 6 years now. Once I get the urban-survival toolbox into the back and install some other goodies like a fire extinguisher, it's going to basically be perfect. Special thanks to jfarsang (Jesse) for scouting out tires for me and running me down to the dock to get the Pajero!
Thanks so much guys (cross-posting in Ih8Mud later)
Duncan, happy new owner.

Glad to hear that it all worked out for you. If you don't mind me asking what was the final tally for the cost of your ride.

Absolute final for everything but the stereo is about $8200, and I have 2 sets of leftover 50% JIS 265/70-15 tires plus a set of Toyota rims to sell on Craigslist or where-ever.

Ok where are the pictures. I think it is about time we have a show and shine thing soon as there are quite a few of us now in Vancouver.

I'll see if I can get a few pics of me in it tonight before it gets dark. A Show and Shine sounds like a great idea. Maybe get Neil to come down from Squamish too? .

Good for ya man. Glad it all worked out.

Now I'm fretting the RORO July shipment. If my Paj is not on there, I'm switching it to container.

Enjoy Duncan

Wow, that's fast if they can get it on board for you. Seems like someone might be pulling your chain though.. I've never heard of RORO that fast in my year or so of research/lurking/waiting.

Here are a few pics of my new Pajero, happy in its new driveway, and a couple shots of its two drivers.. And a shot of the Pajero's stable-mate, my police-packaged
New Yorker, down but not out .
