Getting the Wheeling Fever
I just bought a 78 cj-7. I was wondering about 4 lo I am new to jeeps the only thing i see is a switch in the glove box which I thing is kind of a locker please advise me if there is 4 lo or not

You may not have a low range! I had a 79 CJ-7 when I was a kid. Typically, the quadratrac has a shift lever on the floor if you have 4 Low. The button in the dash is for posi-lock. It's been too many years, I'll let CJ guys tell you more of what you possibly have in your new Jeep. Have fun with your CJ!

Two questions:

1. Do you have a shift lever for the transfer case?

2. Does the switch in the glove box look OEM or does it look like a previous owner installed it?


1977 CJ-7, fiberglass body, AMC 360 w/ headers, DUI ignition, Edelbrock intake and Holley 4150 carb, TF999, Dana 300, 4.56 gears lockers, York air comp, 4" susp lift, 2" body lift, BFG 35" M-T tires, Megashifter, AGR pump & box, REP8000 winch.

no shift lever just switch in glove box. I am looking for a tub and frame if anybody knows were there is on cheap mine rusted worst than i thought.
