Need a Spot
I'm thinking of getting a pair of factory Jeep Comanche leaf springs to put on my lifted Cherokee. I'm thinking it might give me 4"-6" of lift in the rear and maybe better flex back there. What do you all think?? Thanks!!

Peter

I currently have a Rusty's 3" on it with 31's. I'm looking to upgrade to 6" or 7". Mostly I do a little trail riding and some rock crawling.

Are you looking to upgrade in tire size, why so much lift? 31's and 7" of lift doesn't function OR look good. You will raise you COG (center of gravity), which is not good especially if you do any off camber stuff and unless you go with front long arms your jeep will ride like cr*p on the road and will provided limited articulation offroad. With 7" of lift you'll be able to easily fit 35's or even 37-38's with a small bit of trimming. Once you step up to those tire sizes your current stock axles are deffinately not going to cut it....

When I do the lift, I'm planning to go with 35's or 36's, a SYE, long arm in the front, 4.10's front and rear, and dana 44's if I can find a good deal on them. Otherwise I'm going to go with the Ford 8.8 limited slip in the rear and stick with the dana 30 with a locker in the front till I blow it out. Once I do all this, it won't be driven on the road much at all. So I'm really looking to get as much flex as I can out of the rear end of the jeep.
