I actually talked to a guy a few years ago with a Passport that swore the engine was different. At first he even thought the Passport/Rodeo looked different. When I compared piece by piece he finally conceded that Isuzu must have made the body, but Honda put it's own engine in it.
"After all, how could Isuzu build an engine that would easily top 200K" That was his justification...at that point I threw my hands in the air and walked away

I believe that if you take the honda emblem off the engine, it will then look identical to the isuzu ones , Paddler and I did side by side stuff with his passport and my rodeo years ago and there are a few differences, but not too many. I definately need one of them there honda engines though

The Honda engine must explain why my '97 Passport is still going strong at 176K miles!
