Thanks Jerry!!!

We are going to put a new timing belt and water pump on the motor along with all the other tune-up stuff, this weekend. Hopefully we can get it all done by Sunday.

Finally got this thing running yesterday. IT was a little more than just swaping over the top end parts from the DOHC to the SOHC block. THe accesories were in all different places on either block, and the brackets would not swap over, so we had to "refabricate", some of the mounts. There were a few other snags. Youtube video..... Not to exciting but after 9 months of playing with that thing, its nice to have some progress...

LOOKS LIKE YOU GOT IT ABOUT DONE, THE ACCESS, WOULD HAVE BEEN IN DIFF LOCATIONS BEING THAT THE ENG CAME FROM A RODEO, FOR SOME REASON OR THE OTHER , THE RODEO ACCESS, WERE ON OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ENG THAN WERE THE TROOPERS, IF BOTH ENGS HAD BEEN COMPLETE TROOPER ENG ASSY YOU WOULD HAVE HAD A LOT LESS SWAPPING OF PARTS , BUT THE MAIN THING IS YOU GOT IT DONE , AND IT WON,T BE LONG TO DRIVE IT AWAY. Swaping all the DOHC stuff to the SOHC stuff was fairly uneventful. Those accessory mounts got pretty annoying though. I guess we cant complain the new motor was practically free. Almost ready to drive away??? how about this....

HAHA FInally got it moving. There is an awful sound coming from the tranny when the clutch is released. We did put a new clutch and flywheel in it. New slave and master cylinder as well. We are having trouble getting the clutch to bleed.

When is the next Uwharrie ?? haha

DID YOU CHECK AND MAKE SURE THE DOWEL PIN WERE IN THE BLOCK WHEN YOU BOLTED THE ENG UP TO THE TRANS, IF THOSE PINS ARE MISSING IT CAN MAKE ALL SORT OF NOISES AND RUIN THE CLUTCH ASSY , AS THE THROWOUT BEARING WILL BE RUNNING IN A N OVAL SHAPE WHILE IT IS ATTACHED TO THE PRESSURE PLATE , NOT SURE WHEN THE NEXT UWARRIE MEET WILL BE DEFINATELY IN APRIL BUT THERE MAY BE ONE IN DEC , A LOT OF THE CAMPGROUNDS ARE CLOSING FOR THE WINTER .
