Getting the Wheeling Fever
My 2002 Sporty 4 door 4X4 has decided to create a big $$$$ problem.
The steering Gear assembly with pitman arm has started to leak real bad. This is the box the steering shaft is connected to that steers the entire car from. Any one have any experience with this issue? Went to the KIA site and the part is a cool$ 889.29 plus tax for a new one. They do not list a seal kit for the so I guess you have to buy the entire assembly. OUCH this just might hurt.

how much is a 2nd hand one from the local wreckers?? might be a cheaper option. or try ringing a place that specializes in steering boxes, they might be able to re-build it for u and put in a seal from something else in.

Yes go to a junk yard,it should be alot cheeper,or take it apart youself and reseal it..a gear box is all it is,and hope its just a leaky seal, <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

get one from a junk yard x3....

they are usually in really good shape and i've been running on mine for 11 years with various sizes of much, much larger tires than stock and it has never leaked, not once.
