what do you guys run for oil ? oil filters ? air filters ? if running bio/svo/wvo did you replace any hoses or gaskets/seals to be compatible ? any simple mods for better fuel/power/cooler running. any things to watch for on the daily upkeep on this truck ? thanks,

Hello I have run 100% biodiesel since Spring with no problems. Haven't changed any hoses yet, but I imagine I will before next season. I buy whatever diesel engine oil I can find in the 10 -40 range as the book suggests. I have changed all the filters since I bought my Trooper last Fall. All replacement are from NAPA right out of their books. I love my Troopers Brian Rodgers <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

so nobody is using synthetic motor oil ? and no worries on biodiesel attacking the seals in older trucks like i heard ? was thinking of getting a K/N air filter, don't bother ? any way to get better milage ? thanks.

I read somewhere it said you need to change the fuel line for bio-diesel (something like the old rubber wouldn't stand up with the chemical) and the oil filter tends to get clogged up for the first time using bio-diesel.

Keep an eye on the visible rubber, after a year or less on biodiesel the rubber will begin to deteriorate. What you will see is the fuel lines soften, maybe swell, depending on the condition of the rubber when you start with biodiesel. Most of the rubber in the three vehicles I have been running on 100% biodiesel during non-freezing weather for two years, was so hard to begin with that most of it is holding up very well.
