i am having a hard time figuring out the vacuum lines on my truck. i have the diagrams from the autozone website,from under my hood, & from the Haynes manual but i am still having trouble. i have most of the lines connected but i can't find my HAC. are they on all of these trucks? if not what do i do with the lines coming of the carb.? i am just learning how to work on my truck so please, any help would be appreciated

HAC was definitely optional, and the California trucks didn't have them because of smog restrictions.
If you need a diagram that doesn't show it, look for one for a 1981 California truck. If you do have an HAC, it will be a brown colored hockey puck looking thing over by the fuse box behind the battery.

HAC is optional. Your FYI, if the vacuum hose in a diagram has a dashed appearance, it's an optional item. Got that tidbit from an ASE friend of mine.

Wouldn't happen to still have it + the vacuum fittings + the mounting bracket by any chance? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I don't go over the passes very often but the occasional times I do man I wish I had one.
