On my 85 EFI it will not start, when I jump the triangle conector on the left sode fender the relay just clicks? anyone have any thought? I replace the relay and same thing, I was thinking I might have to pull the pump, do you have to drop the tank? is it easy to get to?

Sounds like the relay may be shot, the test jumper will turn it on with the ignition:

Pump is easy to get to in a 4Runner, access hatch under rear seat bottom. In a pickup, either drop the tank or lift the bed off.

with the key on triangel connector jumped the relay just clicks. you think the pump could be grounded. either way it sounds like I have to pull the bed.

Maybe you can reach the pump connector between the tank and the bed and unplug it and see if the relay works then. Also can check for 12v at the pump connector if the relay works.

It is either one or two wires as I recall. With the jumper installed, should have 12 volts on one of the pins with the key on. W/o the jumper, you need to hold the AFM door open or be cranking the starter for the voltage to be present.

I see what you mean, with the plug unpluged and the triangle conector jumped key on listen for the relay to click, if it does not check the plug for 12v if voltage it is my pump. whats a pump cost any idea? thanks for the help.

I got some crazey clicking going on with my truck, fuel pump relay on a 85 truck is it located driver side right of the fuse box? with that pulled and the fuel pump connector unpluged at the tank I am getting a clicking sounds like a relay triping, with the key on and jumper wire on pump plug in engine comp. any ideas? sounds like it is coming from the passenger side under the dash but with the clove box out I can not see or here exactly were it is coming from. this has got to be a simple fix but it is killing me

The CO relay is in the passenger side kick panel. They can go bad from time to time. Often the starter coil burns out and you get no relay pulling in while starting. Put the jumper in and that pulls the relay in when the ignition is turned on. Might also be the mail EFI relay that supplies power to the CO relay. You can try putting in a jumper in place of the relay to bypass it for testing. Something like this:
