Found a thread over on Yotatech http://www.yotatech.com/f2/does-4-56-elocker-really-exist-121900/ with a part # for an e-locked, 4.56 third, 41110-3D010. I didn't know they made one either. Am I missing something here. I have a 98 4cyl as well.
TIA Edy

Seemed to me the selectable elocker is at least with the 3.4 and/or the SR5 package. That would be a great retrofit. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

Usually the higher gears on 3rd gens were offered on 4cy.

The e-locker was an option, independent on any packages. (on the 4Runner at least, was a part of the TRD package on Tacomas)

Seeing as how Inchworm has 4.10, 4.30 and 4.56 all listed for $925 on their site http://www.inchwormgear.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=38 I would have to say that they are a factory ratio and available.

Also keep in mind that there are non US market applications for the 8" LP E-Locker exclusive of 4Runners, FJ Cruiser and Tacoma's.

Years ago I heard that the 4.56 gears with e-locker came on a bunch of the 3rd gen 4Runners that were headed to Canada.
