Describe "The Seafoam Treatment", please. Also, please describe what you heard the starter do. Click? Rattle? Grind? Sing opera?

Did you let it suck it in via a vacuum line? If so, it sounds like you may have hydrolocked the engine. Pull the plugs and turn it over.

Good Luck,
Michael

HAHA yeah opera that is what it was

OK seafoam treatment cleans valves, you let it be sucked in by master cylinder vacuum line or you can remove plugs and add direct, Anyway I guess it vapor locked,it was only like 2 tbl spoons full of the stuff. and the engine stalled, now when i try to start the starter "I think" it just makes a humming or buzzing sound. engine isnt even trying to turn over, spoke with seafoam customer support and they insured me it was just vaporlock or hydrolock and informed me of how to remove plugs DUH!!!! So i start removing plugs and notices that one of the plug holes is filled with oil "bad grommet", so now I have to wait on a valve cover set before i can go any further seems like my projects have been going like this lately If i want to fix something i have to fix two or three other things first

ok let the cylinders dry out left the plugs off and still wont turn over, but engine will rotate by hand, does it sound logical that my starter took the hit in the hydrolock, and the whining i am hearing when i try to start is just the solenoid?

It sounds like your starter just choose this time to exit stage left. Highly unlikely that it is related to the seafoam.

BTW, did you get anything out of the cylinders? Hydrolocked means that there is enough liquid (non-compressable) in the cylinder to not let it turn over. If you pull the plugs and turn the engine over, it should push out any fluid. If you really only sucked in 2Tsb then you did not hydro lock the engine.

Again, I think your starter just went TU. Check the batteries to be sure, but...it looks like it is time to pull it and get it tested.

Good Luck,
Michael

Roll Me Over
Couldn't hurt to try the old hammer treatment on the starter. Have someone bang on it while you try to start it. Sometimes that will break it free of whatever is binding it.

Also, check all your connections to the starter, as well as the battery and the starter itself.

BTW, hydro lock and vapor lock are two very different problems...but I seriously doubt that either is the problem here, so I'll leave it at that.

looking back here is what i think happened, as I was letting the seafoam get sucked up the troop stalled, I do recall when i tried to restart it did actually try to start, I think that is when hydrolock happened, and then when i tried to start again the starter couldn't handle the pressure and luckily gave out instead of throwing a rod in my block. I am going to pull the starter tomm and check it out, I strongly believe that it is the culprit, I know seafoam wasn't the cause of the problem, it just helped the problem along
