is the air intake on a trooper with a 3.2 liter V6 the same on a rodeo with the same engine? I want to get a snorkle for my truck and want to know if I could use one made for the trooper for my rodeo or if there is any other snorkles for different vehicles that would be just the same for my truck.

no, won't work. even if the air intakes are in the same spot, the body lines are totally different.
since a lot of snorkels are made by Aussie companys, you need to be looking for something that fits the Holden Frontera (down under speak for Rodeo). be careful too, the Australian Rodeo is our pickup truck.

Snorkels are not made for gasoline engines, only diesels. It is going to have to be modified for all our gas-powered trucks. If you go in deep enough water to need a snorkel with a gas-powered truck, you are going to screw up a lot of other things, although you will probably not hydrolock your engine. But, they look cool I am still consideriing one.

I strongly believe you are mistaken. While diesels work very well underwater, snorkels can be just as beneficial to a gasoline vehicle. Most electronics can take a brief dousing of water without much harm, but not many engines can survive a slug of water down the intake. It is much easier to replace an alt or dry out wires/cap/rotor than it is to replace an engine because of a bent rod.

Paddler has the only snorkel for a rodeo that I know of. I have seen plenty of gas powered rigs take dives while in Oregon and as Mr. Clark mentioned, They were fine with their snorkels. For prolonged underwater crossings, a diesel would be better, but a gas engine could do fine for what most of us do. You could also build your own, but it would not look as good as the ones made specifically for your rig.

Snorkels are not made for gasoline engines, only diesels. Not True what so ever Contact Joe darlington of the now closed doors of Darlington-Offroad. He'll be able to tell you where to get it. BTW, crossing water isn't why I put it on, it has other benefits, especially here in Utah. To quote someone esle "Cleaner Air: A properly engineered raised air intake system is a critical component of outfitting a vehicle for expedition travel; though it's most significant merit is not its most commonly perceived intent. Living in the southwest and traveling along miles of dusty tracks has shown me the benefits of raising the air intake high above the road surface, where the majority of the heavier dust concentration collects. When dust and dirt is stirred by the foregoing vehicle, the particles will separate by their specific gravity, with the majority settling several feet above the ground and lower. Though the dust generated by a fast moving vehicle can reach significant height, the greatest volume of particulates will have only reached an elevation of a few feet above the road surface, which is where the raised intake benefits."
