picked up an 89 trooper 4cyl w/auto tranny for $600 but its been sitting for almost two years.

other than changing the oil and battery what else should i do? it had very little gas when parked, so do i really need to drain out the old gas or can i just add come heat to whats in there and then dump some fresh gas on top?

thanks..

also, where is the best place to get a new radiator?

Adjust the valves
drain/flush/refill the cooling system at least twice
Change all filters (fuel, oil, air, tranny)
drain and refill all fluids
check the brakes
repack the wheel bearings
normal tune-up stuff (cap, rotor, plug wires, plugs)

Spend a bunch of money at www.independent4x.com and put some dents in it! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

Body Damage is Cool
If it runs rough it could be the gas. Try it and see.

whoo hoo!!! so i tried to jump start the trooper today, and my rallycar battery was barely strong enough to get it to start, i also found out i have a really loud car alarm with no key fob, haha.. but she started!!! so then i went about replacing the battery and radiator, which is a pain in the ass if anyone was wondering. got everything back together only to find that the auto tranny cooler lines are bigger on the new radiator so now i need to get some new hose, but after that everything should be great...
