That is just amazing, I grew up around BlueGrass, listened to it with my Grandfather, never really got into it till a couple of years ago, Just amazing at how fast they play, and do it as a group. I had NO IDEA Steve Martin played the Banjo and how good he is at it. Some reason or another, a Metal Head like's BlueGrass and old country western. just has that "groove to it". Thanks for Posting it.

NICE! That was some cast to get together to play like that.

Not to hijack this thread, but last week was the Fiddler's Convention in Galax(held every year).. I know several people that went and had a great time. I've got to get to that one sometime.

Back about 20 years ago (yes, I am OLD) when I worked in the DC and Maryland area, the guys that I worked with were huge Bluegrass fans. They found out that the "SELDOM SCENE" were playing every Thursday night at the Birchmere (Alexandria, I think). We used to go every Thursday night. Those guys were great live! Every now and then they would have a special guest with them. That's when I started listening to Bluegrass (still listen to other music, but I can appreciate Bluegrass a little better).

That was a lot of talent on Letterman.

I wouldn't pee up Martin's butt if his guts were on fire...but, he's a better banjo player than actor/comedian.

The slide guitar is a Dobro.

Vince Gill can play the snot out of a guitar...and Albert Lee ain't bad either.

That's one of my favorite bluegrass tunes. When I lived back in Nashville I used to go down to the Smithville fiddle festival. True American music

This isn't bluegrass but awful impressive in it's own right. Thought of it instantly when I saw Earl going crazy on the banjo.
