Is there such a thing as a list of Toyota vehicles using the same ignition module as my 81 Toyota Pickup 2wd 22R auto ? I could use the help searching for another spare since I've recently priced out a new module at a whopping $ 1003.00 Cdn.

Search over on pirate.. there's a write up on replacing it with GM parts you can get from any auto store...
Otherwise post a WTB in the parts section.. Find one cheap.
Sure it's the ignitor?

America's first fourwheel drive was built in Mankato, MN by Ernest Rosenburger in 1908 who founded Four-Traction Auto Co. on Hickory Street. The company though successful closed in 1913.

Careful with that VP- his rig has the external voltage regulator, so you guys might want to send a couple PMs to compare part numbers. Don't want no smoke checkin' here.

I got plans from a guy on ebay advertising a way to make your own ic igniter from easily obtained gm parts. The OEM replacement cost over $400 and the plans cost $10.00 so I went for it. The plans were perfect and it even fit in the original housing so it bolts up to the stock location and works perfectly. Total cost was about $20.00. Email me and I'll send you the plans. BTW I have an '81 4x4 22R California model.
