While enjoying a 70mph trip down the tollway on Friday I nearly got thrown through the windshield by my rear end which had locked up. Long story short when I hot it to the shoulder the rear end unlocked and I was able to cripple it to a parking lot where I dropped the rear shaft, locked in my front hubs and drove home. I havenÆt actually taken the housing apart yet but there is ?ö play in and out on the yoke and over ¢ö play when I twist it. Other than this truck runs great. QuestionÆs: 1. Anyone interested? Make an offer? 2. Where can I buy reasonably priced rear end parts? 3. Do you think I should replace the whole rear end? 4. Why are women so confusing?
Year: 1994 Miles: 218,000 Model: Hilux Ext Cab Motor: V6 3.0 Suspension: 3ö Lift Tires: 33ö KumoÆs
Thanks for your help guys.
Josh

3. Do you think I should replace the whole rear end? [color:"blue"] Remove locked up diff - give a feel around for any teeth or shards of metal, insert new diff fill with gear oil. (now a good time to replace seals if needed..) 4. Why are women so confusing? [color:"blue"] I'm not touching that with a 10' pole <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" />

Any Leads on where to get a 3rd member here close to Dallas? I am ok with a 4cyl pumpkin. I tried to look on Pirate4X4.com but you have to pay $20.00 a year to use the search function and there are like 25,000 post so I could build a truck from the ground up quicker than reading them manually.
I am hoping to stay under $200.00 including shipping.
According to my plate codes I have the following.
8" Rear End
4.556 Gears (If I understand my code "G254" correctly this 1994 V6 5-speed Manual truck came with a 31" tire upgrade which makes it a 4.556 gear ratio)
4 Cyl. (Pinion) (I am ok with a 2 cyl.)

Try www.car-part.com for local junkyards. I haven't seen any 3rd generation trucks up for parts in our for sale section lately. Post up in the parts wanted section to see if you get any leads.
