If my wife didn't drive the truck at all, I'd have no problem with letting it by, but since she drives it, its worth the piece of mind.

All the clips connections look good, and it holds good. I sprayed some electronic cleaner on it. I think the FSM tells specs for the voltmeter. Will try that when I get light tomorrow. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Got it on last night ($193 for the dang part !!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" />) and light didn't come back on (drove about 35 miles last night)until this morning. Giving the same sequence for bad speed sensor, harness checked out fine. I'll try clearing the code out tonight. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Sorry, Im showing up for this topic late, been very busy in the oil fields lately. As mentioned, just because the 'puter flagged the sensor doesn't gaurantee it. First check all the connectors for loosness, corrosion, trapped moisture. You need to do this inspection on all connectors in the whole system, not just the one flagged by the computer. Find "ALL" of your ground points and disconnect, clean and reconnect them. The system is very sensitive to high resistance to ground. Then double check all the positive connections coming off the positive lead for security and corrosion. Last, but not least, you may of recieved a bad 'NEW" part; check it against the manual for spec's. I've been a mech all my life and you would not believe how many bad new electronic parts I have recieved. Man, I need to get in here more often..........I'll check back in to see what you find; we'll get the problem solved.

I jumped the pins, and did the brake pedal 8 times in under 3 seconds like the FSM said, and the light hasn't been on for over a day yet, with plenty of driving on pavement and dirt/ tar chip, over some tracks, etc.

I've been having the same issues with the abs light. I even cleaned all 4 abs sensors, but no luck. I spent $100 for the diagnostic thru dealership and read "front left speed sensor bad". I bought the part (yep $190) replaced but still have the abs light coming on occasionally!! I did not however jumped the terminals as what stated on the previous post. this has been an on-going problem for me for 3 years now. When abs light is not on when applied the brakes it works, but before the light comes back when applying the brakes, it would grind and sound a big spring coming un-done then the abs light would come back. So far, I only changed the front left speed sensor, I don't want to buy the rest of the 3 if it is not going to work. one thing that the dealsership had advised me is that to replace the entire abs unit ( $900 !! )
If someone could direct me to a site on how to jump the cables etc, it would be a good help. Thanks in advance.

In the first post, you'll see a link for the ebsco host database at bedford library. The fourth post from the bottom has a login for this DB.

Find the year of your truck. When you get to the main page, look along the left side for the 'brakes' section, then expand the 'anit-lock brakes' section. Click on 'inspection' and it'll give you the procedure for clearing codes.

I also used the same sticky to find a Toyota factory service manual and got a diagram of the pins on the connector, and a parts locator. Can't find them exactly now, but it just takes a bit of nosing around in that sticky.
