Need a Spot
I just took the bed off my truck over the weekend and need some advice with my frame. My frame is heavily rusted from cab back .I cut and welded frame sections on my 84 4x4 I used 3/8 thick diamond plate for the frame and 3/8 ssquarestock for the gas tank mount.I was alot younger then and didnt know much about welding.I would like to fix this one with the proper steel and apply chassis saver product inside and out.

I think I fit your "Didn't know much about welding" comment for when I did my repair! It was my first welding project, but seems to have come out allright. I think the person you may be looking for though is "matts". He had a post where he fab'd up a several foot section of frame rail and grafted it in. But, if you need any input, I have some more pics, other than what I posted.

yes I think it was matts. seems like his pics had a pretty nice weld, plate grafted to the frame.looked like mission impossible,if he could fix that you can too
