Getting the Wheeling Fever
my yj windshield wipers don't appear to be running correctly. sometimes they work sometimes they don't.

i don't think it's the wiper/turn signal stalk or the wiper motor... is there a module or something that i can replace (parts are getting harder to find for this 20 yr) and change easily?

thanks

id find out how many volts are supose to be going to the motor at each speed and then pull the plug off of the motor and test it with a voltmeter, i had the same problem you described on my 97, it turned out to be the motor

Incase you are interested, I have a wiper motor, and the Intermitten wiper module from a yj that I am parting out. If you find out that either of those 2 things is the cause of the problem, i could hook you up for cheap.

Glad to be of help to you. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

ok, well i replaced the wiper motor (no big deal it was running slow anyway) and still have an issue. so the next idea is to try replacing the intermittent switch... which is to the left of the steering column under the dash

but before i do that, what exactly i'm i going to get myself into? is it as difficult as the haynes manual makes it appear?

thanks

It shouldnt be hard at all. on mine it was velcroed up under the dash (i couldnt give you EXACT descriptions, because i no longer have the jeep, or the dash.) Im unsure if the dash will need to be removed to swap it tho. It should be easy enough to do without removing the dash i think. It is just a small black plastic box where wires plug into each end. I still have one from the jeep I parted out if you are interested.

thanks
