long story short, I broke the coolant fittings on the iac valve.

the parts store wont be able to get a replacement in time for my trip. (towing a race bike to the track)

So I bypassed the iac valve all together. the result is my idle is higher than normal (exactly how high, I don't know, no tach) and it surges (probably due to air in coolant system, will bleed again).

my question is will this temp. fix hold out and get me to the track and back safe? (6hr freeway drive one way). should i go or not?

Surging w/ brake application is related to the high idle:

My guess is it would probably fine for a highway drive. Might use a little more gas than normal, but no different than if you had you idle set too high for some other reason.

thanks for the tips and assurance. I'll try turning down the idle tomorrow to see if the surging goes away, thanks again
