Getting the Wheeling Fever
My '95 LS is missing it's oil cooler, which was a casualty of an engine swap just before I obtained it. I have one on my old '91 RS that is a parts vehicle now.Are the oil coolers pretty much the same between Gen I and Gen II? How important to everyday use is the cooler? I'm pretty sure that the block that was swapped into my truck was different(it was a 2000 model block)in regards to some accessories.I had to rig the oil pressure sending unit to make it work again, etc.Any information and experience is appreciated!

Some gen one two door 3.0 did not even come with one. So I would say it is not critical to have one. But if you want one you are going to have to tear into it and see what you can do.

The line fittings on the block, which is probably out of a Montero Sport are different from the original block in that regard. I also had to put an adapter on the block to hook up the proper oil pressure sending unit so the gauge would work properly again. Don't really know what the differences are since the original block isn't in the picture anymore.Going by the part numbers there must have been some changes incorporated in to the 3.0 blocks around 1999 or 2000. I figured that it might have to have an adapter like in many of the aftermarket units.
