I set the output from the transfer on a floor jack, dollie, or the like and remove the crossmember. Start pulling and then separate on the ground That's what I meant Th Danny

Thanks. I assume when chaining to the two engine pull hooks all the weight is on the rear hook with the tranny/xfer attached. Does this work out ok? Would it help to put a strap or chain around the front of thr tranny also? (if it can be done). I'm just about ready to do it...

Just angle the chain so it is towards the back. When the tcase is about to clear the rad support, I lift it up and over. Works better with two people, one can do it Make sure the hoist rolls easily, spray the wheels with lube. Makes for a better job. Danny

ready to pull. seems all the weight will be on the one rear lifting hook... think it would help to install another lifting hook say, in the threaded hole for the starter to get a little more support? or am i worrying too much here?
