I'd really like to have a set of tube doors, but cannot afford to buy a set. I was thinking about making a set out of square tube since I don't have a bender. Have any of you guys made any out of square tube? I'd like to see some pics.

I don't think square tube doors will look that much different than round tube one do, might actually fit the lines of the 2nd gen a little better.

You could get an idea by fabricating one out of wood, an 8'x2"x2"(actual size is 8'x1.5"x1.5") should be enough, and shouldn't run you more than about $4. You can also use the wooden pattern to have an exhaust shop with a tube bender bend you the pieces you need to make your own tube doors. Most shops charge about $10/bend for standard bends, so about $40-$80 for both doors, depending on if you just have two corners bent for each door, or four.

More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else.

Good idea, but I probably won't go through the trouble of doing that, since I'm on a budget. I'll just cut and weld the square tube to fit.
