Need a Spot
I've been thinking about beefing up my axles. I have a 86' Cherokee with the Dana 30 in the front and a Dana 35 in the rear. I was wondering if there is a way to beef up the axle tubes and differential. I know you can purchase new and stronger axles and gears but I was thinking about trying something to strengthen the outside of the axle to prevent flexing in the tubes and differential housing. Is this a bad idea or is it possible?

The dana 30 is a tough lil' booger stock, so I wouldn't do anything with it. The 35 I wouldn't spend money on b/c it isn't worth it. Run it till it breaks then replace it. Or if you're worried about getting home from the trail replace it first. My .02

Body Damage is Cool
You can truss the axle tubes, but as mentioned before the 35 is not worth the time or effort or money. But, trussing the axles will make your weak point the differential, so you would need to upgrade your gears if you were to do that. And the 30 I would just get upgraded shafts for.

Gun it and run it!
