HELP - 2001 Kia sportage 4x4 Power Steering problem

My power steering started going on and off 2 month ago
Las month it went all the way out
Otherwise Kia running perfectly - No check engine light

-----------------
fluid ok - not leaking fluid
power steering belt in good condition

Gee, did the power steering belt break? There should be a small belt from the crank pulley to the power steering pump. Is it present?

1998 Sportage - Gone.
2004 Honda Civic Coupe.
2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara - She got it.

one of the pulleys could be seized-up, too, which would burn the belt and destoy it eventually, too.

yes power steering belt is on
yes power steering belt in good condition

How many pulleys are there?
I only see one attached to the pump.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Try and bleed the air out of the lines. If you loosen the fittings at the gear box you may need to get new packing.

the rack checked?

No rack in a Sporty. Just old style ball and sector steering box.

Thanks for all the suggestions
It ended up being the power steering pump AGAIN.

The original pump went bad so we purchased a rebuilt/refurbished pump locally and this second pump was bad.

We purchased a third pump from eBay and it is working fine now
