Where the heck is the trans drain and fill plugs. Manual says paaenger side top and bottom of trans, are they allen type plugs Thanks Gordie

I've seen all kinds... If yours has the allen hole in it make sure to get the zactly correct size... one too small will ruin the hole for the correct size wrench.

Are you talking about an automatic transmission or a manual transmission?


1977 CJ-7, fiberglass body, AMC 360 w/ headers, DUI ignition, Edelbrock intake and Holley 4150 carb, TF999, Dana 300, 4.56 gears lockers, York air comp, 4" susp lift, 2" body lift, BFG 35" M-T tires, Megashifter, AGR pump & box, REP8000 winch.

Manual 5 speed trans. Changed the transfer case and topped off the axles before our first really big trip. Can't really locate the plugs, have two manuals but they really don't help.

You could Google the manufacturer of the transmission -- they might have drawings of the transmission. You could get a catalog from Four Wheel Drive Hardware -- they have exploded drawings of all Jeep transmissions in the back.

Were it me, I'd just crawl under the vehicle with a flashlight and use my hand and find out where the plugs were.
