Need a Spot
I went to hook up my cell phone charger in the cig lighter in my 1991 yota today, but it didn't work. After i took out the radio, i noticed that the owner before me, must of unhooked it for some reason. I tried to run a + and - from the radio to it, but it still wont work? Any ideas of how to get it working agian? Thanks, B

Could be the fusible link behind the lighter socket was blown:

If so, it'll look like a blob of molten solder. I just soldered the ends of mine together and wrapped in in insulation.

If you're running power and ground to it (it requires both) check for continuity between the contacts on the inside and the connections that you're running wires to on the outside.

On mine, my + wire (factory) had started to melt down from running a DC/AC converter - not enough current to pop a fuse, but the wires aren't large enough to really handle much in the way of amps.

I assume you had the ignition switch on. The cig lighter gets no power unless the switch is in acc position. Otherwise rogers advise it probably right on as usual.
