Need a Spot
I was replacing U- joints in my rear shaft when i found the pinion nut must be loose, I have a ton of play in the pinion, and i can feel bearing slop. So what is a good preload to set the pinion at for torqueing down the yoke Going to be doing this with the third still in.

Roll Me Over
the 12-bolt uses a crush sleeve to set pinion preload. Once "crushed" you simply can't just tighten it more. You need to get a new crush sleeve and start over.

I don't recall what the preload spec is off the top of my head, but keep in mind, with used bearings it will be less than if you were replacing them with new ones.
