Its ok though the tank needed to go any ways. It will be in the way apparently. So its time for a fuel cell I guess.

Oh and the bent front dosn't matter either but for a while there I was wondering if I was going to have to get my trailer. It was getting ugly out there with two out of three trucks buggered.

But I am amazed at the strength of that CV. I have no idea how old it is but parts of it where in Betsy III. And it just won't go, I'm going to have to try again.

My front wheels don't seem the same one sits like this [] the other sits like this //. So I have A [] // combo. I also shorted out my battery and the steering is out. This all happened about 15 min after you left Phil. Jenssen pulled a tire off the bead and with no spare as its a competion truck we had the pleasure of putting it back on.

I'd also be surprised if my gas tank held 70 liters anymore.

Yet my half busted CV shaft never broke.

Oh yeah and I welded the mirror back in place.

Man I love that truck, no you can't have it back Phil.

Hello guys! Had a couple of questions, was unable to find an answer through search..

on your 3.0 Montero's, is it the same 3.0 as in lets say a 99 Montero Sport? If not.. is the transmission the same?

And second question, are you using any sort of an adapter plate to get from the output to the 231? I know the 231 is round, but the output on my trans looks square-ish..

I've got a 99 Sport ,3.0 auto, and curious about marrying a 231 or 241

Thank you!

why we are talking t.case, is there any upgrades for my gen2.5. I am going to do the 4.90 gears but I would also like to do lower tcase gears.

On a side note I will be doing a SAS swap in a few years using Dana 44s front and rear.

Yes there are many t-case optoins for your gen 2.5 and don't swap in a dana 44 into the rear of your truck
that would be a total waste of energy, time and money. Not to mention you would be downgrading your rear end. The mitsu 9 inch is stronger than a dana 44 and if you're not happy with that you can get a full floater kit for it, or swap in the mitsu 9.5 inch its way stronger than a dana 44, bolts on, comes with a locker "in most cases" and costs less than swapping in a dana 44. What axle do you have right now, the 9 or 9.5?

The transmission in your rig was also used in many Jeeps as well as other rigs. You want to get the tail housing from late 90s Jeep that had a 4.0. There is a writeup where Nathan C installed a dual 231 into his Montero, this will give you the proper model. Nathens Dual Xfers

I have the 9.5. My reason for going 44s is because the amount of after market support that there is for them. D60 would be nice but that is just way more than I would ever need.
