There is a wishbone-shaped bracket that supports the alternator in the back. I had another mechanic (200 miles away) who replaced the spark plugs and failed to re-install this bracket to the alternator. Soon after the mount at the bottom broke in two and I found the wishbone-shaped bracket in the bottom of the engine bay. My local mechanic can't figure out how to put this bracket back- I have replaced the mount.
for clarity: The mount is made of a pots-metal or aluminum. The bracket has three boltholes, is 3/8" round steel / wishbone shaped.
could anyone post a picture of their 2.8 V6 engine where this bracket attaches to the alternator? I have a sheet that was faxed to me from the local Isuzu dealer, but this has not helped.
any help would be appreciated, a photo of the orientation of the steel alternator support bracket would be a lifesaver!
