Hey everyone, I looked through the archives and am just to tired to keep reading. I am going to do a body swap from a 4 cyl to a 6 cyl. 6 cyl body is in bad shape after a crash so taking the good 4 cyl body and putting it in teh 6's place. How bad is this going to be? regarding all the wires and BS I am going to have to re-do? Any suggestions or pitfalls to watch out for would be of great use. After this is done I will be selling left over items so stay posted. Thanks KD

shouldn't be hard. Just note any differences between the two and jump in.

Anything in regards to the electrics (ECM)? Just pull it all off the crashed one and shove it in the good one huh? I hope it's not to bad... I miss the little bugger.
PS: I scored a 91 Montero 4 door so I now have 3 of these in the yard. 2 Black Raiders, and a white Montero. The Montero needs some major leaking/cracked/warped something repaired. Oil full of HOT water when I had it running last weekend. New post on that to come. Thanks KD

I say pull all of the electronics from the v6 body and swap them over into the 4cyl body. Thats the only real way to be sure everything will work. isn't hard to pull the wiring harness after you get the dash off. Also swap dashboards so VIN matches.

Hmm I'd pull all the wiring out of the doner truck to keep with that frame. Dash is way way different on v6, and I4 trucks. Very Different.

This should be where your spidey sense is going crazy. Not that he's wrong, but ALWAYS know that it WILL be harder than you thing it will be. Just note any differences between the two and jump in. Know that these ARE NOT the same truck! They look the same and handle like a brick (notice I didn't say drive the same), but as far as electrics and drive train are concerned, ARE NOT the same. Noting the differences will take some time if you do it right. If you don't do it right, getting it back together WILL take ALOT more of your time. I'm not trying to discourage you, just want you to REALLY think about what you're getting into. Have you thought about swapping the good V6 motor into the good 4 door truck? Much easier prospect, but that's just my opinion. Good luck!

The little frame-mounted tie-in thingy on the V6 in the rear wheel well, what is that for?

The little frame-mounted tie-in thingy on the V6 in the rear wheel well, what is that for? Its a safety feature that keeps the body from flying off the frame in a catastophic crash. I dont think its really need as mitsu eliminated it on the gen 2 in 94.
