hi all,

im about to pop the pulleys off, and get into this thing-following the instructions on roger's page..

the crank is turned to zero, but the notches on the cam gear are at 6 o' clock and not 12.

obviously this is how it ran before for 212K, is everything fine? should i put the new cam gear on with the dimples at 6 again?

thanks.

if i understand you correctly, spin your crank another 360, it should put your cam at 12 and your crank as well

Bring the crank around one turn -- your cam will end up correct.

Body Damage is Cool
nth-ing the previous suggestions.

Background: 4 cycle engine, crank turns twice for each single revolution of the cam (that's why the cam gear has twice as many teeth as the crank gear).

ah i see <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" />

damn im foggy this morning.

i threw on the new guts (chain, guides, tensioner) with the cam dimples at 6 o clock, i just need to rotate the crank to get them both to face 12 o clock?

s there a true difference between having the cam dimples at 6 rather than 12? or is it just for ease of install?

thanks <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

i think its the differance between exhaust stroke and intake stroke, you dont want the valves set for one when they should be doing the other.or some thing along those lines
