so i have never figured out what to do about not haveing a temp gauge. there are some things cut by the clutch and open hood thing. which i'm thinking has to be the stock set up for the temp gauge on the odometer. what are my options i seen a ton of cheap temp gauges that possibly could work will it or do i need to replace the sensor i don't even think i got one because i have an after market screwed into the left side of the block and it don't work just has a wire going to the gauge and its dead.

sorry bout the punciation 87 dodge raider im about to head out as soon as i get an answer thanks

C'mon, he's trying. There's some periods in there. It's a start.

If you wire the thing wrong it will fry. Look in the box and get the wiring diagram. What are the wires on the gauge? Should have a wire to ground, a wire to hook to the instrument lights, and a gauge signal wire to hook to the sender, and maybe two of them. Wire count and colors, please. One or two wiring tabs on the sender that screws into the engine?

theres the sender thing that goes into the block the thread nut. then two wires a white on the left and a black on the right i'm thinking white = pos black = neg

where could i possibly hook these up the wires are maybe inch half long from the back of the gauge it self. I seen a silver 12volt thing under the dash near the clutch. but i have never installed a gauge on anything so i'm at lost sorry guys. If i need to i will take a picture

You need to buy some wire to make the distance from the gauge to the sender on the engine. You need to take a pic of the gauge back (wires), sender (wires) and the instructions wiring diagram.

I'd say the gauge white to sender white, gauge black to sender black, gauge power to ign. on power, gauge lights to instrument lights, and a gauge ground to body steel. Don't wire it until I see the pics...
