Hi guys , haven't posted in a while due to being so busy with work and traveling all over the place.Anyway , I was thinking how much effort people put into their rigs , and just what it would take for us to part with them.So , lets hear everyones idea of just what it would take to get rid of the zu.

For me , with the amount of work I put into mine , even though its not done yet , and all the brand new parts and goodies , of course money would do it , but I don't think I would get a reasonable amount for the work and parts because of the age of the truck ,and the poor resale value.

Other than money , the only other thing I can think of that would make me part with it , other than prying the keys from my cold , dead hands <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> would be if I found my dream car and had to sell it or trade it to get it.This of course would be a 1970-73 cuda , with a big block , 340 , 440 , or preferably a 426 hemi <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />.

So , for you others out there that love the rigs you have , what would it take to make you get rid of it?Inquiring minds want to know <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" />

not sure what would make me get rid of the zoo. maybe a family financial crisis.

or if someone offered me enought to go buy a new one and start over...

I would trade it for a nicely restored IH Scout, or a fully funded expedition to summit Vinson in Antarctica .

After 17 years and 300,000+ miles, my '89RS went to my step-son. Why? A new Triumph, a Z71, an RV, but most of all... that dang urban sprawl that paved over all the trails and beaches I used to drive.

He got it with the provision that I get first chance to buy it back if he ever wanted to get rid if it.

I have an '05 Rubicon Unlimited that splits time with my beloved '86 Trooper...I use the Troop for hauling my boat and for day trips up to about 300 miles. It just took me and my buddy camping from N FL to NE GA without a hiccup, including a stream crossing and some serious trail running. She's a beast, and I wouldn't sell her for anything. The Jeep is great, but the Trooper is my "Swiss Army Knife"...

Replacing the 4L30 twice, the entire top end at the tune of $4,000................05 Rubicon/Unlimited and not looking back.

Part with my Isuzu? NEVER!

I enjoy wheeling my Isuzu for several reasons:
1) When you are driving a Isuzu on the trail, you are wheeling a uncommon 4x4. I find alot of enjoyment in that, and I have heard other Isuzuoids tell me the same thing.

2) When we get to wheel with another Isuzu on the trail, it means alot to us, because it's such a rare occurence.

3) The annual Moab Zu Zoo event put faces and personalities to "screen names", and gives me another reason to enjoy wheeling an Isuzu.

4) The market for Isuzu aftermarket support was really non-exsistent when I started wheeling in my Isuzu. The Isuzu friends/family that I developed during my Isuzu wheeling adventures ended up creating their own companies to fix this problem. They have gone beyond alot of people's early expectations, and made modifying my Isuzu easier, which made my wheeling enjoyment even better.

My Point:
Selling your Isuzu is difficult because your not just selling a car. Your selling a collection of memories, and a unique wheeling connection that you have with some really cool people/family.

So I will not be selling mine. I'm going to keep it, wrench on it with my son, and then let him earn it as he gets older. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />
